Enwise’s dry digestion technology solvesthis bottleneck by processing solid organic waste like EFB. By digesting EFB alongside traditional POME, palm oil mills dramatically increase their overall
gas yields. This high-volume output makes localized, direct biomethane liquefaction economically viable right at the mill site. Bypassing intermediate compression steps creates a direct, simplified supply chain to Singapore, significantly reducing final biomethane delivery costs.
To demonstrate this capability, Enwisedeployed a pilot plant in Indonesia in partnership with the Sinarmas Group in May 2026. Processing up to 500 kg of EFB, this pilot equipment has successfully
demonstrated stable, highly efficient digestion on a real-world scale, proving that EFB can be reliably converted into high-yield clean energy.
Singapore recently launched a historic 300MW biomethane purchasing sandbox, representing the largest single commitment to biomethane procurement in history. Tapping into this market has historically
presented steep logistical hurdles because conventional biogas technologies rely solely on POME, severely limiting the total volume of biomethane a single mill can produce. These low per-mill yields forced producers into complex, expensive supply chains requiring intermediate compression at the mill followed by transport to a centralized liquefaction facility, which significantly inflated the final cost of the energy.
Scaling EFB digestion offers palm oilproducers an immediate edge in achieving their Net-Zero roadmaps. Digesting both EFB and POME reduces mill emissions by up to 2.7 tonnes of CO₂ per tonne of CPO produced, effectively moving CPO production awayfrom being a carbon emitter toward becoming an active carbon sink.
